My little Bimmer Airhead was the first bike I acquired after a long, almost 20 year hiatus without owning anything on 2 wheels.
This became my first choice, and it has been a trusty companion since late 2011. As other bikes have found their way into my garage (and heart), I still feel a kinship with this sweet little bike. It has carried me on several extended road trips, mostly solo, and now has the honor of being my “go-to” bike, which I keep covered at the shop for those short little errand jaunts into town. Even in its mostly stock configuration, the R100 is the nearest to “cafe racer” configuration I own with those short stubby handlebars, and rear-set foot controls.
